Indonesia has the largest economy in Southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies of the world. The country is also a member of G-20 major economies and classified as a newly industrialized country. It is the sixteenth largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and is the seventh largest in terms of GDP (PPP). The economic growth rate was 4.94% in February 2016. As of July 2017, per capita GDP in PPP is US$12,432 while nominal per capita GDP is US$3,895.



Indonesia is the 26th largest export economy in the world and the 52nd most complex economy according to the Economic Complexity Index (ECI). In 2015, Indonesia exported $161B and imported $139B, resulting in a positive trade balance of $21.7B.
